Let Them Drink Cosmos 7.08 Introducing Lorelai Planetarium

“You’re mad?” “You’re damn right I’m mad.” “But you were making fun of these people all night.” “I was joking. I wasn’t standing there judging everyone.” “I didn’t judge everyone.” “The title of the article is ‘Let Them Drink Cosmos.’ I was joking with my girlfriend. I wasn’t comparing a whole class of people to Marie Antoinette!”

Ingredients

For cocktail:

• 3 oz cranberry juice

• 2 oz vodka

• ¾ oz triple sec

• ½ oz lemon juice

• 1 egg white (optional)

• Ice

• Granulated sugar

For mocktail:

• 3 oz cranberry juice

• ¾ oz orange juice

• ½ oz lemon juice

• Ice

• Granulated sugar

• 2 oz club soda

Directions

For cocktail:

1. Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously for at least 15 seconds.

2. Strain to remove ice, then return drink back to shaker and shake for an additional 10 seconds to froth the egg white if you added.

3. Rim a chilled martini glass with lemon juice and sugar.

4. Strain drink into glass. Garnish with a lemon peel or cranberry.

For the mocktail:

1. Add the cranberry, orange, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker and fill with ice. Shake vigorously for 10-15 seconds.

2. Rim a chilled martini glass with lemon juice and sugar.

3. Strain drink into glass and top with the club soda. Garnish with a lemon peel or cranberry.

I know, I know. Everyone wanted me to make snails for this episode, but I just couldn’t bring myself to make them. Namely because I had no idea where I would even find snails in Texas, let alone the confidence to prepare them properly. Luckily, Logan came through in this episode with another dish option for me to make. I wanted to offer a mocktail version since I have made quite a few cocktails on this page, but not many mocktails!
